PRRC extends its heartfelt thanks to the Amber Dreams Foundation and the Foley-Sethi Family of Ireland, who for the second year in a row have generously donated the proceeds of their annual fundraising Fancy Dress Walk to the Centre.

 On Thursday March 22, 2012, children, parents and staff of the Centre led parade in celebration of Mashramani.  Costumes for this year's parade depicted the six ethnic race groups and the parade route travelled along Carmichael Street, Middle Street, Camp Street, North Road, Company Path and then returned to the Centre.  The children were treated to refreshments and games afterwards.

On January 19, 2012, members of the PRRC Management Committee, staff, residents and students gathered together to witness the cutting of the cake in observance of the Centre's 45th Anniversary.

 January 19, 2012 marked the Centre's 45th years of service.  On this day, students, staff and members of the PRRC Managment Committee celebrated this day with a special cake cutting ceremony.

The Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre held a special Inter-Faith Service on January 15, 2012 in honour of the Centre's 45th Anniversary on January 19, 2012.

The service included speakers of the Christian, Hindu, Islamic and Baha'i faith, and was well attended, by staff, students, parents, donors and the Minister of Health, Dr. Bheri Ramsaran.

 On January 9, 2012, the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre launched a calendar featuring the students, staff and activities of the Centre, to commemorative it 45th year of exemplary service.

The Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre conducted a walk-a-thon to raise funds on October 8, 2011.  An overwhelming response from the corporate sector to the call to contribute funds, and great staff participation combined to make the event an incredibly successful one.

On April 13, 2011, students of the Special Education Unit along with residents of the Centre were treated to kite flying in the National Park as part of Easter celebrations.

The Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre hosted a Mashramani celebration on February 21, 2011.  Participants included both children and staff of the Centre as well as students from several schools in the neighbouring environs, who were invited to interact with the children.  Participants were divided into four different teams each with its own colour (red, gold, royal blue and green).  Activities for the celebration included face painting, games and a short parade.  Costumes worn for the parade bear an African theme in honour of 2011 being designated the Year of People of African Descent.

Some activities that amputee patients of the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre were engaged in:
- Cooking exercise as part of ADL (activities for daily living)
- Diabetic Foot Care Workshop
- Annual Christmas Party
